Rome - Vatican speaker ??

A modern addition to to Vatican's ornate facade with it's pillars and statues the loud speaker system looks a little out of place.

A rather grey looking building ! What has happened behind these walls over the centuries I wonder ?

He's looking over the harbour in a piazza of the same name.
